Bits & Pieces

Do you know what a Tumulus is?

We were walking around the area where Rob lives when we came across a Tumulus only about 1 km away.  It’s a mound of earth around 25metres in diameter and about 3 metres higher than the surrounding ground.  It’s the grave of a chief from around 4000 years ago! It had been looted long ago.

This is an old horse trough complete with a ring thing to tie on the reins. Might be handy again one day if the  Arabs ever run out of oil.

The reason the Bartletts are in NZ rather than Aussie or whatever, is because my great-grandfather at the age of seventeen, left the slums of London’s East End.  After a bit of effort we managed to track down his birth certificate and found his place of residence.  Unfortunately, the street no longer exists as the street was obliterated during the blitz!  In a strange coincidence he was also a cobbler.

Dennis. We’re in trouble! Dan Carter is out injured, so is Colin Slade. Aaron Cruden is next man up and we still have two games to play. I have given Sir (Prem) Henry a call and given him your number. With your experience at the Wonderfull game and in the workshop I am confident that you can ‘stitch’ up a canny move or three. Keep your phone on and your boots polished (any colour will do – but black out the makers name)

PS. Don’t worry about the goal kicking. Piri is doing OK.

    Regards Leen V
